HOLIDAY

Just back from a lovely week in North Yorkshire, great weather and even better scenery.  As you may know if you've been reading the About Us page, my lovely husband John is from North Yorkshire - so every now and then we have to take him back to 'Gods Country' for a lung of Yorkshire air.  We spent a lovely few days at the Harmony Country Lodge (link of my links page), before continuing along the coastline.  So many thanks to Tony & Sue Hewitt for making us feel so welcome in their beautiful (and unusual) home.  We had a lovely room overlooking several bays and right across to Scarborough Castle.

While visiting Whitby Abbey on Tuesday we decided to join the English Heritage, and since the weather was so nice we made full use of our new membership by also visiting Rievaulx Abbey, Pickering Castle and Byland Abbey.  No visit to Whitby is complete without a trip to The Magpie Cafe (link on my links) for their excellently fresh fish - straight off the boat in front of the restaurant that day.  I can recommend a visit if you've never tried the Magpie before, but expect to queue as it's really popular!

It's John's birthday tomorrow, so he catches me up and can't say I married a toy boy 'til next June rolls around again!

BIRTHDAY

Well another birthday has come around and lots of good things have already happened.  John officially gets to say I married a younger man - but only for 2 weeks, then it's his birthday and we're the same age again!!

My friend and Craniosacral Therapist Debra had a great Craniosacral Awareness Week. Lots of people turned up to experience the many benefits of this gentle therapy, and a local charity benefitted as all monies went to them.  Well done to Debra and the Natural Choice Therapy Centre in Ashbourne for holding this event.

AWARENESS WEEK

My friend and Craniosacral Therapist Debra, is taking part in the Craniosacral Awareness week in June, full details can be found on Debra's flyer on my Fairs and Things page, or via Debra's own site at www.craniosacralhealing.co.uk.   If you've ever been curious or fancied trying this type of therapy, why not take a trip to Ashbourne during this week, do a bit of sight-seeing and enjoy a new experience whilst benefitting a local charity.

HOLIDAY

Just back from a lovely week away recharging our batteries in the Garden on England, lots of sunshine, sea air and rest - just what the doctor ordered!  Back to work with a bang though now.

Well that didn't seem so bad - this week has actually flown by and here we are at the Bank Holiday.  We have a workshop booked tomorrow with the usual gang, so looking forward to that.

CONGRATULATIONS

A massive congrats goes out to my dear friend, artist and painting instructor Di Jennings of paintingmyway, who has sold her painting 'Path through the Birch Trees' to a film director for use in film, tv and stage work.  Well done Di, you deserve it.

KATHRYN'S COMMISSIONS

Another big shout goes out to my bezzie mate and Reiki master Kathryn, who has secured another painting commission.  Well done Ryn, long may it go on for you.

My other friend and Craniosacral therapist Debra, is getting her new website up and running.  I can highly recommend Cranio and if you've ever fancied trying it I would say give Debra a ring, she is absolutely excellent.  Her new site is www.craniosacralhealing.co.uk

EASTER

Happy Easter to all our friends and family

The Easter weekend is upon us and I'm really looking forward to the break.  John has us booked in for a trip to see his dad in Yorkshire and a model show while we're that way, I have a little work to do on my friend Debra's site, and I'm looking forward to getting my brushes and paints out.  I've been planning many projects in my head for the past few weeks, so now I can finally get do try them out.

I was talking with my friend Kirk yesterday, he's coming up in the next few weeks for a workshop, he was telling me about his new painting projects and it seems his business in Capel is going from strength to strength - good on yer Kirk, keep it up.

PAM'S VISIT

Happy St. Patricks day, may the luck of the Irish be with you.

Much of our previous few weekends have been taken up getting ready for the visit of my dearest friend Pam and her husband Derek.  We decided to have a re-vamp in our bedroom and swap our newer bedroom furniture with the furniture in the spare - so with 2 weeks to the visit we got new carpet and set about emptying the room to lay that.  Sunday was a trip to Ikea for the new 'funky' (as John calls it!) wardrobes and drawer units.  Monday was closely followed by a tickle at the back of my throat and yes you guessed it, by building the wardrobes day I had a full blown (excuse the pun!) cold.  Believe me it's not fun trying to hang on to extremely large wardrobe sides with one hand and a tissue gripped in the other!!  But it was all worth it when Pam turned up on Thursday, and we've had a fantastic few days together.

I've also been doing the background work ready for starting my friend Debra's Craniosacral website, which I'll be finishing over the Easter break.  I'll put details on the site when I've finished it.

B.R WORKSHOP

We have another Bob Ross workshop organised for this weekend, all the usual gang plus a few newbies are painting Glacier Lake - John's version of this is already in our gallery.

For those of you who don't already know, apart from my own Alexander classes I also organise these workshops for a couple of visiting BR instructors, my dear friend Kirk being one of them.  Also later this year Kirk and I are working towards putting a painting holiday together.  Watch this space for more details.

COMMISSIONS

Another big congrats goes out to my dear friend, Reiki master and painting buddy Kathryn. While showing the progress of her portrait commission to the customer in her garden, Ryn's neighbour was so impressed he is talking to his wife about getting a portrait done for them.  Good on yer girl, you keep it up.

ARCHIVE BLOG & CRANIOSACRAL

I've been busy doing some website admin today, I've moved the 2007 blog entries to a separate archive page. So anybody new to the site wanting to know what John and I were up to last year, go check out the old blogs.

I've also been chatting to my Craniosacral therapist friend Debra, she is holding 2 more of her Tasters Days this time in Ashbourne. Taster sessions are the ideal way to experience this wonderful therapy for yourself.  Carniosacral is a gentle, light touch therapy which helps the body's natural capacity for self repair.  It can help with many conditions such as fatigue, muscle aches, headaches etc.  If you would like to give it a try why not treat yourself to a taster, and enjoy the delights of Ashbourne as well.  Dates are 23rd February and 1st March, contact Debra (from my links page) for full details and to book your place.

CRANIOSACRAL

A big thank you goes out to Debra Petts for my Craniosacral session on Tuesday.  What a wonderful range of sensations I had, ranging from feeling like I was sinking into the treatment bed to feeling so light it felt like I could fly.  My body felt so relaxed I could easily have drifted off to sleep.  When the session ended I had to visualise my body coming back down, and the amazing thing was I could actually feel the weight coming back, down from my head into my feet.  Craniosacral for those who don't know, is a light touch therapy which can help the bodies natural ability to heal itself.  I can highly recommend it to anyone, so check out Debra from my links page.

BUSY KIRK

Congratulations to my dear friend Kirk Glander, who is now so busy with classes since his move to Capel St Mary, he doesn't have time to meet up until the end of March.  Good for you Kirk, long may it continue for you.

RELAX & DE-STRESS

My friend and qualified Craniosacral Therapist Debra, is holding a taster day for people to go along and try out Craniosacral therapy for themselves.  Craniosacral is a gentle, light touch therapy which helps the body's natural capacity for self repair.  It can help with many conditions such as fatigue, muscle aches, headaches etc.  If you would like to give it a try for yourself why not go along to the taster day in Long Eaton on the 23rd January.  Debra can be found via the link on my links page, or by email at debra.petts@gmail.com.  As my husband will tell you from his taster session, it really was relaxing and he felt marvelous after.

BACK TO WORK

Well back to work today, a shock to the system after 2 weeks off but thankfully feeling much better now.  Due to everyone being ill over Christmas all booked classes are being re-arranged for later this month.
