 THE WORKS DO

There certainly are some bleary eyes this morning at work.  Yes Christmas is coming fast and the party season is in full swing.  Our lot went off to a posh hotel in Leeds for a lavish bash last night, this morning tells a sorry tale of late night revellers and sore heads.  The costings team behind me are quite delicate this morning, in fact only half of them have managed to get here yet  Must be time to crank up the radio

KIRK'S MOVE

I'm pleased to say my very good friend (and one of the leading Bob Ross instructors in the country) has finished his house move.  Kirk and Mel are now happily settled into their new place in Capel St. Mary and are looking forward to a less hectic time over Christmas, although Kirk is already busy with bookings at his home studio and sorting out classes for next year - that man never stops!  Happy house warming to you both, I hope Capel is going to be very profitable for you.

PAM'S HERE

The B.R workshop last week was a huge success and everybody did an amazing painting, I'll be putting it into the gallery as soon as it gets photographed this weekend.

Pam & Derek arrived last night from Kent, so another amazing weekend is planned.

I  had some excellent news yesterday, Marie (who is already coming for a painting day) is bringing her 2 girls along to paint as part of their Christmas present.

WORKSHOP

Well after not  seeing my best friend Pam for years,  this month we will be seeing her twice.  I'm very pleased to say Pam and her husband Derek enjoyed their visit so much they are coming back next weekend.

We have another B.R workshop tomorrow with the usual gang, we are doing a lovely snowy oval, so I'm looking forward to that.  Some of you might not know, but along with my private Alexander tuition, I also organise Bob Ross workshops for a couple of visiting CRI's.

PAM'S VISIT

I've so much to update from this weekend I couldn't wait til Friday to do it.  My biggest news is my very best friend Pam is coming for up for a visit this week, I've not seen her in years so it's an opportunity for a big celebration&

More congrats go out to our bezzie mate Kathryn, she has 2 more commissions lined up before the first one is even out of her studio - well done Ryn.

Although the craft fair was a complete wash out, we did meet some lovely people and got a few different contacts.  Since it was slow for everybody John went off for a treatment with Debra, the lovely lady next to us.  Debra (http://www.craniosacral.co.uk/) is a registered therapist practising Craniosacral Therapy, and anybody who knows John knows he is adverse to anything "new age or alternative", that is until Sunday.  He was so relaxed and wound down Debra had to 'ground him' after the treatment because he couldn't feel his feet So Debra Petts comes highly recommended if you ever fancy trying Craniosacral therapy out for yourself.

ANOTHER INSTRUCTOR

I received an email this week from Mark (http://www.paintwithmark.co.uk/) asking me all about the Alexander course.  We've now exchanged several emails and I'm pleased to say he has joined the certification program.  We will soon have another Alexander certified instructor in the country - good on yet Mark.

We've got our first craft fair this weekend, so I've been busy laminating posters, printing business cards, flyers and hand-outs advertising my private classes. Tomorrow will be busy with pricing and photographing paintings, then boxing everything up ready.

I've just taken a booking from a lovely lady to do Warm Winter after Christmas, she is extremely nervous as she's never painted before but loves the picture. I've told her I couldn't even draw stick people but anyone can paint in this technique.

 BIG CONGRATS

Another month for firsts, but not ours this time.  Big congrats go out to our bezzie mate Kathryn who has just received her first ever painting commission.  Good on yer girl, here's to more like that   I see that someone has "borrowed" my personal Alexander logo, well they say it's the greatest form of flattery don't they!

 BIG THANK YOU

A big thank you goes out to three very special people. Di Jennings of http://www.paintingmyway.co.uk/ who has been an invaluable help to me in setting up this website, a fountain of knowledge for a beginner into the art teaching world, and someone who has become a true friend.  Libby my colleague and dearest friend who has encouraged me all the way, believed in my dream and who was almost as excited at my Alexander news as I was.  Kathryn my painting buddy, Reiki Master and bezzie mate, another true friend who has helped and guided me along, believed in and encouraged my dream to teach the Alexander technique. Thank you all for being there, supporting me and being genuinely lovely people.

ALEXANDER

I've had email from my contact at Alexander Art telling me I now have company on the instructor course,  someone who has asked me not to name her has also joined the program.

My lovely car is in the garage tomorrow for some seriously noisy brakes, then we have a friend coming around for dinner, so I guess a lot won't be done this weekend.  I am hoping to do some painting on Sunday, maybe a floral

STEVIE

We have a BR workshop booked tomorrow with the usual gang.  My old boss (and by an occupation twist of fate, now a work colleague at my new job) has chosen The Old Country Mill from series 17. This will be Steve's first time, so fingers crossed he enjoys himself.

For those of you who might not already know, along with training for my Alexander certification, I also organise Bob Ross workshops for a couple of visiting CRI's.

An excellent day was had by all yesterday and Steve was very impressed with his first painting, it's been elevated from shed to toilet (actually it was always planned to go in there!).  Rae if you ever read this, Steve has the most natural talent for painting I've ever seen.

SEPTEMBER

It looks like September is following along nicely from August.  I've had another request today for one of my beginners tuitions - long may it go on

PUSHING THE BUTTON

Mrsite is now fully loaded and ready to go, I'm pushing the button after these entries.  I have to say how easy I've found this, I would recommend mrsite to anyone.

I've had some excellent news today  2 of my absolute beginners tuitions have been booked up. I'm looking forward to welcoming these ladies to our home, then sending them off with paintings to be proud of.

BANK HOLIDAY WEEKEND

Finally, Friday of bank holiday is here - mrsite arrived today along with a few extra reference books and my instructor pack from America.  While John (the husband) is watching cricket this weekend, I'm going to study the books and pick out suitable subjects for each of my instructor classes - total beginners and some experience required.
